General Lee said: 'Governor, if I had foreseen the use those people designed to make of their victory, there would have been no surrender at Appomattox Courthouse ; no, sir, not by me.' Then, with rising color, throwing back his head like an old war-horse, he added these words, 'Had I foreseen these results of subjugation, I would have preferred to die at Appomattox with my brave men, my sword in this right hand.'

Robert E. Lee Robert E. Lee’s life was punctuated by a stream of superlatives. In 1829, he was graduated second in his class from West Point and was without a single demerit. In his Senior year he lead the Cadet Corps. In 1831 as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army, he married the daughter of an adopted grandson of President George Washington. Following several years working as an Engineer, at the beginning of the Mexican-American War in 1846, General George Winfield Scott asked that Captain Lee be assigned to his Command. Can you imagine a man of Lee’s courtliness facing the vituperation of the National Organization for Women, the profanity of the ACLU, the homosexual rights movement, rampant pornography, or the charade we call Democracy? How alien he was to our nihilistic culture. How hard to imagine his character in the youth of today. The Civil War was indeed a blow to the Republic. Lee’s prophetic statement about the end of Republican government has been substantially fulfilled. Terrorism known as "Total War" became standard, Federal Government reigned supreme and its roots have ever since been moistened with tyranny. For Robert E. Lee Birthday eCards, click here. |

This 80 minute DVD is a moving documentary about two great Generals whose faith was their life. It has bonus segments on Slavery, Sam Davis, and The Palmyra Incident. It is a faith building presentation for all Christians.
This is the story of two drastically different cultures that had emerged on the American landscape following the Revolutionary War. This documentary places the war in its historical and cultural context. It guides the viewer through the causes and the major battles of the “Civil War” while providing insight into the lives of two stalwart men who fought for the South. Both were masterful generals, brilliant strategists and, above all, faithful Christians. The faith of these "Warriors of Honor" governed their lives on and off the battlefield, and their legacies continue even today.
Steve Wilkins, author and historian says of this documentary "Finally! A documentary that is willing to speak plainly about the Christian faith of Jackson and Lee. It is a beautiful and accurate account of two great Southern leaders and of a war that forever changed our country."

Chuck Baldwin, is a big supporter of southern heritage. In an article he contrasts the Christian views of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Stonewall began a Sunday School for blacks and was very missionary oriented to promotion of the Christian religion for all.
Of course, Lincoln's views on slavery were out of step with reality, and racist:
For example, in an 1858 debate Lincoln said, "I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in anyway the social and political equality of the white and black races, that I am not, nor ever have been in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people, and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior. I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race." Lincoln routinely made such comments.Contrast the sentiments of Lincoln and Grant to those of Robert E. Lee and Thomas Jackson. For example, it is well established that Jackson regularly conducted a Sunday School class for black children. This was a ministry he took very seriously. As a result, he was dearly loved and appreciated by the children he taught.

Slavery Apology
The liberals and gays from California to Florida are crowing about the recent Congressional resolution on Slavery Apology. Should we really apologize for something that we didn't do? The logic follows were they better off when brought to America, and if not should we pay to send them back? How evil was antebellum slavery.? What determines that slavery in America was evil? If the Bible indeed is the final authority on right and wrong, then what does the Bible say about the institution of slavery? Antebellum Slavery
